First patch to be released this Friday; developer to release regular weekly updates.
Creative Assembly has announced the first patch for recently released strategy game Total War: Rome II. The update will be released this Friday, and will address a number of crash issues and implement performance fixes.
The patch will be the first of a series, with Creative Assembly announcing its intention to release weekly updates for the game following this week's fix.
Plans for future releases include balance changes and modified AI routines, and will draw information based on data received from players.
Creative Assembly is encouraging players to report issues on the Total War: Rome II support forum.
Total War: Rome II is a sequel to 2004's Rome: Total War. The game introduces new features such as army stances, a revamped political system, and combined naval and land battles. Players can make their way through more than 300 years of history.
Daigo and Xian squared off at Mad Catz's Unveiled event during PAX; the company is both players' main sponsor. The event marked the first time either player had played in front of a live crowd since EVO 2013, where Singapore's Xian became champion for the first time, and Daigo suffered a crushing loss to Korea's Sun Woo "Infiltration" Lee for the second year in a row.
"He has a new strategy against me when he plays me," Xian said in an interview days before the match. "He reacts to what I'm doing depending on the situation. He forces me to play a footsies game. He wants me to go in, he wants to play defensive."
Playing defensively is exactly what Daigo did. Watch the full match below, with Daigo Umehara as Ryu and EVO 2013 Champion Xian as Gen.
Ubisoft says Invasion Mode levels will be added to platformer via a free patch at a later date.
Rayman Legends for the PlayStation Vita will be patched to add in the game's missing Invasion Mode levels, publisher Ubisoft announced today.
"Due to a longer development time than expected, we couldn't initially include the Invasion Mode--essentially, a second take on existing Rayman Legends maps--in the Vita version of the game," communications manager Gary Steinman said. "However, we can confirm that the Invasion Mode will be added via a free patch, at a later date."
When Rayman Legends launched earlier this week for PS Vita in North America, users reported that the content found in the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U versions was missing.
’Based on feedback from our MLG community, I think the Spring Championship was one of the most successful events in the 10-year history of the company,’ MLG CEO Sundance DiGiovanni told GameSpot at the time. "I think we can attribute the success of our Anaheim events to a number of factors: the close proximity to our development partners--Activision, Riot, and Blizzard; the overall growth and support of the competitive gaming community; and how easy it is to travel to southern California."
MLG's Anaheim 2014 dates coincide with E3's 2014 dates and location, scheduled to be held June 10-12 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. MLG’s Anaheim dates conflict with Sweden-based event and tournament organizer DreamHack, who will be holding their annual Summer event from June 14-17 in Jönköping, Sweden. While neither organization has announced the games for their 2014 competitions, StarCraft II and Valve’s Dota 2 have potential for overlap. DreamHack officials say that MLG has not contacted them regarding the overlap.
’DreamHack presented the dates for DreamHack Summer 2014 on May 16, 2012,’ DreamHack Head of eSports Tomas ’greykarn’ Hermansson said to GameSpot. ’I'm not aware of any communications with MLG regarding this.’
’We're very keen about trying to avoid conflicts when it comes to our events with early communication and also try to track the eSports calendar all year around. Some conflicts can't be avoided but when it comes to Summer and Winter we have used the same dates/set of days for 12 years. We have no more comment on the matter."
On November 15, 2012, Major League Gaming, DreamHack, and the Electronic Sports League announced a partnership to ’unify and elevate eSports globally.’
Among the details outlined at the time included a universal ranking system, unified competition structure, and a master tournament calendar. ’One event calendar ensuring a minimum or no conflicts to ease players’ schedules and enables fans across the globe to easily spectate.’
