Gamers who purchase current- and next-generation versions of Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14 will be able to transfer Ultimate Team items between the two generations, EA Sports has confirmed. Ultimate Team is a game mode that allows players to create a fantasy team with virtual trading cards based on real-life players. Madden Ultimate Team users on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 can perform a onetime transfer of up to 1,100 items to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, EA Sports said. This includes 100 active items (55 players, 45 additional items) and up to 1,000 reserves. All transferred items can still be used on the Xbox 360 or PS3 following the upgrade, though items cannot be traded or auctioned more than once. In addition, the carry-over only applies to those upgrading from the PS3 to the PS4 and the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One. No other combination is supported. For FIFA 14, players will be able to access their full FIFA 14 Ultimate Team roster, in-game items, and in-game currency from either console. In addition, all changes made in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team will be reflected in both consoles, EA said. On top of that, players who begin their FIFA 14 Ultimate Team experience on current-generation consoles will be able to maintain their division in Seasons mode on the new systems. Both versions of FIFA 14 will also share a common auction market, EA said, allowing players on next-generation consoles to interact with the current-generation players. Madden NFL 25 launches on August 27 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, while FIFA 14 arrives September 24. The Xbox One and PS4 will be released this holiday. The future of the Castlevania series, beyond this winter's Lords of Shadow 2, has yet to be decided, according to series producer Dave Cox. "What happens with Castlevania after [Lords of Shadow] is not clear, but we hope to leave it in the best of health for those who come after us," Cox said on Twitter. Clarifying comments he made during San Diego Comic-Con, Cox confirmed that MercurySteam will not develop a new Castlevania game, but rather an all-new IP, potentially for next-generation systems. "When I said we are done with Castlevania, it's because we want to move forward with MercurySteam on a new project in a new universe," he said. If the Castlevania series does move forward, Cox said he believes it is time for "somebody younger; a younger producer to come in and take up the mantle," though no studios were named outright. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 launches this winter for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Read and Post Comments | Get the full article at GameSpot | |
